The VGH Youth Leadership Program empowers and encourages youth to be active individuals – at both a community and personal level. VGH & UBC Hospital Foundation provides the younger generation a platform to make a difference. Every member can participate and help in contributing to the community through volunteer and fundraising opportunities offered by the Foundation.
We envision that inspiration will turn into action at the VGH Youth Leadership Program. The program inspires youth to care for the less-fortunate and provides tools to push forward the boundaries of charity, entrepreneurship and creating change. The VGH Youth Leadership Program, along with our dedicated Advisory Board, has worked to inspire people to reach out and help in their own neighbourhoods and the community.
In addition to volunteering, this program also offers fundraising opportunities to youth. Members have the opportunity to participate in fundraising initiatives and engage in community outreach to achieve their individual fundraising commitments and targets. The Foundation offers reference letters to members who have contributed over 100 volunteer hours and reached their fundraising goal of the year, as a way to encourage those who have taken action to spark change within the community and support the health care of BC.
The VGH Youth Leadership Program is open to members between the ages of 12 to 23. Through their involvement in the program, our youth can contribute to the community through volunteer and fundraising opportunities, and be able to build on their leadership and teamwork skills.
